Peace

Peace is 17 years old. She grew up in a village in the Eastern region of Uganda. Peace has been sponsored by ABOH for three years. Peace and her family were rejected by their by their muslim father when they became Christians. Peace’s mother now lives in a small suburb of Kampala where she fries meat pies to support her other children while they live in a very small bedroom, room enough for only a bed and night stand. Peace lives with us at the Bridges of Hope house, I have personally knows Peace for five years and have been able to see her slowly come alive and transform from a broken identity to a joy filled young woman. Peace needs people in her life that can build a real and long lasting relationship with her. She needs to continue her transformation and come out of the chains she grew up in.

Queen

Queen is also 17 years old. Her father died when she was young and her mother was not able to continue sending her to school past the 7th grade. She grew up in a remote village in Western Uganda helping her mother work to provide shelter for their family. Queen was very behind in her education and is now under the sponsorship of ABOH. She lives at the Bridges of Hope House with mama Edith, who is the mama of the Hope house. Queen is attending vocational school to further her talents of sewing and design. She needs an individual sponsor to show her that she is important and that she too can full fill her dreams and make something of herself and end the cycle of poverty that plagues her family and much of the nation.
